Taylor Lewan's Player Profile

This year, the Wolverines' offensive captain did not allow a sack during the regular season. He has a nasty streak. After 28 consecutive starts he is now coming into his own. He is without question a top notch NFL Left Tackle. He still has an upside since it is only his 4th year at tackle.

Last year, Taylor Lewan was matched up against the #1 prospect in this year's NFL Draft. Jadeveon Clowney's huge hit in the 2013 Outback Bowl vs Michigan made him a legend. That is for those who don't truly watch football from the inside out.

The truth be told Taylor Lewan more than held his own vs. Clowney in that game. On that particular play Clowney was unblocked because Lewan blocked down. Clowney was unblocked and, yes, made a great play but not against Taylor Lewan.

Most of the game, Lewan was head-up vs. Clowney with no help. Clowney recorded 4.5 tackles along with a couple of hurries. On the biggest stage, Clowney did not record a sack. This is this years consensus # 1 pick in the entire draft. That is an o-line win.

So far this year, Lewan has out played Texas A&M's Jake Mathews & Alabama's Cyrus Kouandjio (though I do like the upside of Kouandjio). Frankly, I like both of these players, but if I'm picking a Top 10 Tackle, I am picking Michigan L.T. Taylor Lewan.
