Shea McClellin may sneak into the 1st round of the 2012 NFL draft. His stock has risen in the weeks leading up to the draft. McClellin started 37 of 49 games at Boise State. In 13 games this season he made 50 tackles, 12.5 TFL and 7 sacks. In his 4 year career he recorded 129 tackles, 32 TFL and 19.5 sacks.

He has good size for an outside linebackers. He is mature, a hard worker, and leads by example. Shows good recognition, good football IQ. Has a good closing burst and is an decent tackler. Doesn’t deliver the big hit.

Has some trouble in close, disengaging from blocks. Can have trouble one-on-one with elusive receivers/backs. Not a big playmaker.
