Michael Floyd's Player ProfileMichael Floyd is an intense athlete and a gamer with a lot of ability on the football field. No doubt he is a 1st round talent especially in todayís NFL. At 6ft 3 220+lbs Floyd is a physical receiver which makes it difficult to reroute him. He is talented enough to throw to when he is not open because of his great strength, body control and ball skills. He is an ideal possession receiver with deceptive speed and capable of making a big play vertically. He is s prototype receiver against press coverage because he can get of the ball well, and make the adjustments to the back shoulder throw. I love that he is a willing blocker, he is tough, plays through injuries and produces, his size makes him a good red zone target and he is tough to bring down after making the catch making him a solid yard after the catch guy. What I also really like about him is his willingness to block. From playing high school ball in Minnesota and college at Notre Dame I really think he suits well on a cold weather team and he will succeed in nasty weather conditions that often come in crucial late season games.
Big time character concerns. In interviews you can see that Michael is a bright young man but with several drinking and party related incidents it is definitely concerning. I really hope that he can contain his passion for partying when he makes it to the league. His team must have a plan with him off the field. Also, his weight fluctuates and can be a concern if he is not disciplined in this area. Floyd is a strong receiver but I donít see him having many quickness advantages in the NFL. Not a special teams contributor.
Michael will be holding a lot of Notre Dame records by the time he gets to the NFL which comes with a lot of potential. I think he has a lot of similarities to prospect Alshon Jeffery as well as Dwayne Bowe I believe is a good NFL comparison. I really think Michael Floyd is a stud, he could be one of the best in the league, I really hope that he goes to franchise that will hold him accountable.
