Melvin Ingram's Player Profile

Melvin Ingram played in 12 games his freshman year. He was medical reshirted the following year after breaking his foot in an offseason. Ingram started 12 of 13 games this past season, but only 14 total in 50 games. This season he recorded 48 tackles, 15 TFL and 10 sacks. In total he made 109 tackles, 30.5 TFL and 21 sacks at South Carolina.

He’s a little on the small side but is a good athlete. Has above average top end speed, with good agility. A very good pass rusher with a variety of moves and violent hands to shed blockers. Ingram has good closing speed and range.

Ingram has only one year of starting experience. Motor is on and off. Missed a game with a foot injury this season, played with a broken hand in 2010, and had the broken foot in 2008.
