Dont'a Hightower's Player Profile

Dont’a Hightower started 42 of 44 games for Alabama over 4 seasons. He was medical redshirted during his sophomore season after tearing his ACL in their 4th game. This past season he made 85 tackles, 11 TFL, 4 sacks, 3 PBU and 1 INT. For his college career he made 235 tackles, 21 TFL, 5 sacks, 7 PBU and 1 INT.

Hightower is bigger than most inside linebackers, and likes to be physical. Shows good instincts and work ethic. Can shed blockers and is a good tackler. Takes good angles.

Durability could be a concern with the ACL injury (had surgery on the ACL, MCL and meniscus), and a had surgery on his left hand for a small fracture in August of 2011. He played through the hand injury. Can be a liability in coverage at times. Doesn’t cover a lot area.
