Bruce Irvin's Player Profile

Bruce Irvin draft stock has dropped. There is no question he has talent, but he has off-field, character issues. He was arrested in March for destruction of property and disorderly conduct. Dropped out of high school, spent time in a juvenile detention center. Played 2 seasons at Junior College. Played in 25 games at West Virginia and put up some impressive numbers. He made 61 tackles, 29 TFL, and 22.5 sacks.

Irvin is an excellent pass rusher, with good closing speed. Moves well in pursuit despite average speed. Quick burst of the line and can go sideline-to-sideline.

Intangibles will hurt his draft stock. Irvin doesn’t have good football instincts. May have trouble finding a position in the NFL. Needs to work on his technique.
