Brandon Weeder's Player Profile
Age is the constant knock on Weeden. He will turn 29 during his rookie year in the NFL, but his body is absent of the normal abuse of a quarterback that age. He did not play high school football until his junior season and suffered no major injuries. DRafted by the New York Yankees in the second round of the 2002 MLB Draft, he was in baseball until joining Oklahoma State in the summer of 2007. In his two years as a starter he was sacked a total of 19 times and wasn’t hit too many more times than that. Back to the age situation, he’s been a pro athlete and made money. Instead of blowing it and being immature, Weeden invested and is financially secure. He is married to the daughter of a high school champion basketball coach. He is very grounded with his chief vice being golf, where he is a three handicap. Physically, Weeden has a big-time arm that can rip it and is accurate. He has good football savvy, which will help as he makes the adjustment to playing under center. His college career record as a starter is 20-3. You can knock Weeden, but if you need a quarterback quickly and you knock him instead of draft him then you will likely be crying later, whether you are still employed or looking for work because you did not draft him.Profile submitted by: Robert Allen
