Justin Houston's Player Profile

Started 1 of 13 games as a RS freshman in 2008, recording 19 tackles and 2.5 sacks. The following year he started 10 games, making 39 tackles, 15 TFL, and 7.5 sacks. Houston started 13 games this past season, and put up some impressive numbers. He recorded 67 tackles, 18.5 TFL, 10 sacks, 2 PBU, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 INT and 1 forced fumble. Houston’s stock has dropped leading up to the draft after he failed a drug test at the combine.

Is a good athlete with excellent size. He is a very good pass rusher, reads the snap count well, gets off the line quickly. Is a solid tackler. Can play in both the 3-4 and 4-3 scheme.

Was suspended in 2009 for 2 games for violating team rules. Needs to improve against the run, show more consistency in effort. Doesn’t play hard every down.
