Maurkice Pouncey's Player Profile

Pouncey has been working his way up draft boards all season, and will most likely be a mid-to-late 1st round pick. He received the Rimington Trophy this past season as the Top Center in the nation. Is a CBSSports.com, Sporting News, and FWAA 2009 1st-Team All-American. Maurkice started off as a right guard as a freshman in 2007, but moved over to center where he was a main-stay since 2008. Pouncey has good size and athletic ability. Picks up blitz’s well. Has an excellent work ethic, character and intangibles. Has a good punch off the line. He is an effective pass protector and run blocker. Did not miss a game in 3 years at Florida.

Maukice can be over-aggressive at times. Needs to work on his footwork. May have trouble against faster defensive tackles at the next level.
