Eric Berry's Player Profile

Arguably the best player (part way thru season) that will be entering the 2010 NFL draft, though it’s possible that he won’t get drafted in the top 5. As of the beginning of November, Berry is still only 15 interception return yards shy of breaking the NCAA record of 501 set by Terrell Buckley from 1989 to 1991. Berry entered the season 15 yards behind, and has only 1 interception for 0 yards through the first 8 games.

Berry started all 14 games for Tennessee as a freshman and was named the SEC Defensive Freshman of the Year, after grabbing 5 INTs for 222 yards, and recording 86 tackles. In 2008 he started all 12 games and claimed All-America honors, grabbing 7 picks for 265 INT return yards with 72 tackles.

Berry is a terrific athlete and has game breaking abilities. Has excellent instincts on both the pass and the run, and is an excellent tackler. Covers the field well, and attacks the ball carrier.
