Derrick Morgan's Player Profile

As a Junior this season, Morgan became ‘the man’ after the 3 defensive lineman (Michael Johnson, Darryl Rachard and Vance Walker) from Georgia Tech were selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, and he hasn’t disappointed. Morgan has moved himself up in to the top defensive end prospect for the 2010 draft (as of Nov. 26). Through 11 games he’s recorded 45 tackles and 12 sacks in 2009. As a sophomore he recorded 51 tackles and 6 sacks.

Morgan has NFL size at 6’4” and 268 pounds. A very well rounded athlete. He gets a good jump off the line and has good closing speed. Consistent against both the run and the pass, and can play both sides. Has continually improved his skill set each year at college, and has plenty of upside.
