Carlos Dunlap's Player Profile

Dunlap has the size of a run-stuffing left defensive end and the pass-rush skills to play on the right side, and that size/athleticism combo accounts for the widespread comparisons to Texans All-Pro Mario Williams. What remains to be seen is whether or not Dunlap will follow in Williams's footsteps as a number-one-overall draft pick. However, one thing almost certainly not up for debate is Dunlap's once-in-a-decade physical package.

The Florida junior stands around 6'6", and, though he checks in at roughly 290 pounds, he carries the weight well. He also doesn't move like someone just south of 300, displaying the lateral quickness, burst and closing speed of a linebacker while using his size and strength to hold up against the run. His tenacity, though, could use a little jolt, and it remains to be seen if his production will match his measurables. All in all, if he makes the grade in those two areas, mark him down as a top-three-overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft.
