Vontae Davis's Player Profile

Vontae’s brother is San Francisco 49ers Tight End, Vernon Davis. Heading in to the combine, he is the second rated cornerback behind Jenkins. Over his 3 year collegiate career, he recorded 206 tackles (78 in 2008), 3 forced fumbles (all in 2008) and 7 interceptions (2 in 2008).

Davis has the size, speed and ability to be very good corner in the NFL. Rarely gets beaten on the deep ball, he has ability to recover and is able to run with the best receivers. Is aggressive off the line. A competent tackler.

Can be too aggressive at times, taking himself out of the play. It can be seen as both a positive and/or negative depending on how you look at it, but he could have had more than 3 interceptions if he took more chances.
