Jason Smith's Player Profile

After being redshirted in 2004, he started 8 games (10 total) in 2005 at Tight End, gaining 70 yards on 6 catches and 1 TD. The following year he was switched to Offensive Line, and hasn’t looked back. A 1st team All Big 12 and a 3rd team All-American this past season. One of the top ranked Left Tackle entering the draft.

Smith is still a little raw at LT, but he’s an excellent athlete that will only get better. Has decent size with long arms. Good agility with a good initial punch. Plays with a bit of mean streak and doesn’t give up until the play is finished.

Needs to add some strength and bulk. Needs to work on a lower center of gravity, plays upright too often against rushers. Footwork could improve. Lack of experience at Tackle.
