One impressive number that stands out over ‘Beanie’s’ Buckeye career is that in 585 rushing attempts, he did not fumble the ball. His numbers were decreased this past season as he missed 3 games early on in the season with a foot injury. In 2008 he rushed for 1,197 yards on 207 carries (5.8 yds per carry) with 8 touchdowns. Wells’ sophomore year he rushed for 1,609 yards on 274 carries (5.9 yds per carry) and 15 touchdowns.

Has good size and speed. Powerful runner who can be really tough to bring down. Uses his strength and low center of gravity to break through tackles. He can pound the ball up the middle, and has the ability to find the holes. Has the stamina to carry the ball 20 to 30 times a game.

Has dealt with foot injuries in college. Only caught 15 passes out of the backfield in 3 years. Needs to improve his blocking. A knock on Well’s game has been his lack of creativity to make a broken down play into a solid gain.
