Branden AlbertHt/Wt: 6-7/317 lbs
Branden Alberts's Player ProfilePositives: Outstanding character player with elite physical tools. Stunning hand punch with proper placement. Bends his knees well for a man with his frame and sets with a wide base in pass protection. Quick off the snap and immediately begins to use his hands to harass the defender. Keeps defenders at bay in pass protection thanks to his long arms and positioning. Can get to the second level. Plays until the whistle blows and with a killer instinct. Smart kid and very durable. Loves the game.
Negatives: Lacks balance at times and will whiff on the occasional block while in motion. Lots of room for improvement as a run blocker. Needs to improve lower body strength and stamina. Needs to learn when to absorb and when to generate contact. Commits more penalties than you would like to see.
Outlook: Branden Albert projects as a guard in the NFL due to lack of ideal balance and foot quickness to handle the left tackle position. When he uses proper technique he should be able to negate the rush with ease and has the raw physical tools to develop into a good run blocker. With his rock solid work ethic, the best is yet to come for Branden. Has a high ceiling and will likely develop into a borderline pro-bowler at the very least.
