Brown is an explosive linebacker with excellent range, closing speed and tackling ability. He plays with a high motor, diagnoses running plays well and has the athleticism to pursue mobile quarterbacks or attack gaps into the backfield. His biggest concerns are coverage awareness and taking on blockers, as he can be manipulated by play action and occasionally gets overwhelmed when offensive linemen reach him cleanly. Overall, Brown has the athletic tools to become a three-down NFL linebacker, but improving his coverage instincts and ability to disengage from blocks will determine whether he becomes an every-down starter.
