Devan Thompkins's Player Profile

Devan Thompkins is a powerful, versatile defensive lineman whose combination of size, athleticism, and improving technique makes him an intriguing NFL prospect. The former USC defender has emerged as a disruptive presence at Alabama, demonstrating the ability to contribute both along the edge and from interior alignments. At approximately 6-foot-5 and nearly 300 pounds, Thompkins possesses the strength to overpower offensive linemen while maintaining surprising quickness for his size. His length and heavy hands allow him to control blockers, collapse running lanes, and generate pressure through the pocket. He is particularly effective when converting initial momentum into power against offensive tackles. Although his physical tools are impressive, Thompkins must continue developing his pass-rushing counters and consistency when facing technically sound blockers. His versatility should appeal to multiple defensive schemes, particularly teams seeking a powerful defensive end capable of moving inside on passing downs.
