TJ Parker
Ht/Wt:6' 3"/265 lbs
Position: EDGE
School: Clemson
Class: Junior

TJ Parker's Player Profile

TJ Parker is a twitchy, first?step?driven edge defender whose profile is built on explosiveness, quick hands, and the ability to attack the quarterback off the line of scrimmage. He wins with a violent first step, strong punch, and the ability to bend around the corner and finish with a relentless motor, making him a natural fit for offenses that want a pass?rush specialist who can rotate in on obvious passing downs and generate pressure from the edge. His ability to stay disciplined in his gap on early?downs while still bringing that burst on passing downs gives him appeal as a three?down defender who can set the edge and then jump into the backfield when the offense reveals its intentions.

Strengths: His biggest strengths are his explosive first?step quickness and his refined hand?usage package, which allow him to win early in the rep and convert speed into power without losing leverage.

Weaknesses: His biggest weaknesses are his somewhat limited size and power profile, which can make it harder for him to consistently win in the trenches against NFL?level linemen, and his occasional tendency to overspeed and lose balance when he over?commits to a single rush move without a clear secondary plan.

Walt - Walter Football- January 20th: "T.J. Parker had a breakout sophomore campaign. He has impressive instincts and was very productive."

Gordon McGinness - PFF - January 19th: "Parker is coming off a season where he tallied a 15.5% PFF pass-rush win rate and proved capable as a run defender, earning a 77.5 PFF run-defense grade."

NFL Draft Buzz- January: "Parker's going to be a day one difference-maker when he steps onto an NFL field. The tape doesn't lie: this kid's hand-fighting skills and technical polish will translate immediately against professional tackles. He's built to excel in multiple fronts but watch him feast in an aggressive 4-3 where he can pin his ears back and hunt QBs without overthinking."
