Spencer Fano
Ht/Wt:6' 5"/311 lbs
Position: OT
School: Utah
Class: Junior

Spencer Fano's Player Profile

Spencer Fano is a compact, physical interior offensive lineman whose value comes from his power, grit, and toughness in the trenches, particularly in the run game. He provides a low center of gravity and strong hands that allow him to latch onto defensive linemen, sustain blocks, and create movement, which makes him a natural fit for gap? and power?oriented schemes that ask interior linemen to move defenders and wall?off lanes. His temperament and conditioning give him the profile of a high?use guard or center who can hold up in multiple?snap stretches, even if his measurement profile is more below?average than prototypical for the NFL.

Strengths: His biggest strengths are his power in the run game and his toughness and competitive spirit, which allow him to play with a physical, aggressive edge that translates well to the NFL.

Weaknesses: His biggest weaknesses are his shorter than?ideal arms and frame, which can make him vulnerable to long, athletic interior defenders and limit his ability to consistently anchor and recover in pass?protection, and his occasional need for better pass?set patience and balance, as he can get too narrow and struggle to slide with quicker interior rushers.

Mel Kiper - ESPN - January 21st: "Fano started 12 games at left tackle in 2023 before moving to the right side in 2024, and he started 24 games there over two seasons. Working opposite another highly regarded bookend in Caleb Lomu, Fano does a great job of keeping his big frame between the pass rusher and his QB."

Walt - Walter Football- January 20th: "Spencer Fano needs to fill out his frame, but he was stationed at left tackle as a freshman."

Gordon McGinness - PFF - January 19th: "Fano took a step back in 2025 but still earned 80.0-plus PFF grades as a run blocker and in pass protection. His 2024 season was even better, though, headlined by a 92.6 PFF overall grade that made him one of the top players in this class coming into the season."

NFL Draft Buzz- January: "Fano profiles as a Day 1 starting tackle with Pro Bowl upside who will immediately elevate a team's running game while providing reliable pass protection. His exceptional movement skills combined with natural power make him scheme-versatile, though he would absolutely shine in a wide-zone system that maximizes his ability to move in space."
